  1. Came across your website whilst doing a search on long distance walks around Glen Avon.
Just want to say your pictures are fantastic.
I have enjoyed all your blogs. I have put you in my favourites and look forward to reading about your future trips.
You have inspired me to walk from Blair Atholl to Aviemore this year.
Do you know what the parking is like in Blair Atholl area for us to leave our car for a few days?
Thanks again for an excellent website.

  2. Thank you for your kind words. Blair Atholl to Aviemore is a fine walk. I didn’t really look much at parking as I went by train but there seemed to be plenty of space outside the hotel, so if you can’t find any public parking, you might be able to negotiate with the hotel.

  3. Hi there, Im just come back from a week in the West Central Highlands around Carrour – hardcore winter freecamping! Friday 29th was a chilly one and I can recommend the Meanach bothy for sure! Ramble aside, I was using a Laserlite (erstwhile parent of Laser Comp) and whilst it was generally v good, I did have some stability issues one night when it partially collapsed in a gale. So I would like to improve it but Im an occassional and inexpert user and wouldnt attempt the detailed mods you describe. I wondered within your comprehensive mods, if you could recommend the 1 or 2 most important ones for a layman like me – Im more interested in stability than ease of use – I think double guys on the ends would have helped a lot for example, many thanks

    1. I would say the double end guys and the pole hood mods are the most important from the perpective of stability.
