Shoe update

Over the last week, I’ve been wearing the Roclite 320s rather than my Hi-Tecs for dog walks. I’m really pleased with them. They are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever worn. The ache that I had in my right foot has disappeared. They feel like walking in bare feet except that the sole is pleasantly cushioned. Walking on pavements and grass is not a huge test. Next week they will get a bit of a bashing in the Lakes.

  1. What sort of bashing are you going to give them? Proper hillwalking with a 6-7kg pack and some camping or simply a bit of low-level path walking…?

  2. Let me know how they are on Scafell. I’m very interested in dumping boots and using my Innov-8’s but ankle support on those rocks is a concern, even if you’re as sure-footed as a mountain goat…

  3. I’ve been very happy with my 330s. Used them in the Lakes/Peak in the rain and overseas on some difficult terrain in the Canary Islands. Good to use mini gaiters with them, even in the dry, to stop grit and gravel.
